Call for Art
2025 Exhibition Schedule
All art will be received at the Valley Center Library 29200 Cole Grade Road
Valley Center, CA 92082.

1. Winter Wonderland (Dec - Jan 2025)
Winter themes from anywhere.
Intake: December 5, 2024 10 am - 1 pm and December 6, 2024 10 am - 1 pm
Pickup: January 23, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and January 24, 12 pm - 3 pm
2. Small Sizes Please (Jan - Feb 2025)
Small art can make a big impression. Any topic is suitable, as long as it does not exceed 10 x 10 inches (not including the frame).
Intake: January 24, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and January 26, 2025 10 am - 1 pm
Pickup: February 13, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and February 14, 12 pm - 3 pm
3. Apex Predators - Friend or Foe (Feb - March 2025) SPECIAL EXHIBIT curated by Barbara Scharnau
An exhibit about co-existing with the apex predators of San Diego County. This is an Art and Community awareness exhibit with art work illustrating our apex predators and tips on how to safely co-exist with our wildlife neighbors and enjoy the rich habitat we live in.
4. Native Art (April - May 2025)
Art depicting native cultures, peoples, and scenes. Local tribal art as well as tribal scenes from around the world.
Intake: April 3, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and April 4, 2025 10 am - 1 pm
Pickup: May 16, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and May 17, 12 pm - 3 pm
5. Western Ways (May - June 2025)
This exhibit will be judged and ribbons will be given out.
This is an annual exhibit celebrating all things Western.
Intake: May 22, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and May 23, 2025 10 am - 1 pm
Pickup: June 27, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and June 28, 12 pm - 3 pm
6. Local Scenes and People of North County, San Diego (July - Aug 2025)
Local places/streets scenes and people, with or without animals. Recognizable outdoor scenes and personalities from Valley Center, Pauma Valley, Escondido an d Pala.
Intake: June 27, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and June 28, 12 pm - 3 pm
Pickup: July 31, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and August 1, 12 pm - 3 pm
7. Special Exhibit (Aug 2025)
Special exhibit by the VC Library. Please obtain details from the Library staff.
8. Textile and Fabric Art (Sept - Oct 2025)
Textile art, quilts, and art incorporating fabric. Acceptance of each piece is based on available space.
Intake: Sept 4, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and September 5, 12 pm - 3 pm
Pickup: October 16, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and October 17, 12 pm - 3 pm
9. Otherworldly and Out of This World (Oct - Nov 2025)
Legends and mythical creatures, ghouls, fairies, trolls and space aliens.
Intake: October 23, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and October 24, 12 pm - 3 pm
Pickup: November 20, 2025 10 am - 1 pm and November 21, 12 pm - 3 pm
